August 2nd 1922 – March 15th 2011
On Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Beloved and sadly missed husband of Evelyn. Loving father of Janice (John) and Greg (Teresa). Dear Gramps of seven grandchildren Sydney, Trevor, Zachary, Jack, Andrew, Bridget and Jordyn. Born and raised on Westwood Avenue in Toronto, the second child of George and Connie, and brother of John.

Albert served overseas in World War II for five years as an Aircraft Mechanic with the City of Edmonton Squadron of the RCAF and the RAF. On returning from service, he worked at Orenda Engines on the Avro Arrow, Domtar and Bristol-Myers. Albert also met his wife Evelyn upon returning from service. They moved to the Leaside community in Toronto, living there for over 50 years. They started their family, and he became a well-known member of the Leaside community. He was a dedicated member/elder of both Danforth United Church and Leaside United Church. He was full of life, riding his bicycle in to his late eighties. Deeply interested in his children and grandchildren, he loved music, and always took the time to listen. He will be forever missed by his family, friends and community. Thank you to family and friends for their love and support. A family memorial service will be held in the Hearth Room of Leaside United Church, Toronto.

All donations in memory of Mr. Waines will be dedicated to the Wendy Bear fund, to support people living with colon cancer.
