We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to all of our guests at the 2009 Gala of Hope, hosted by Pat Foran of CTV News. With over 500 people in attendance, the night was a wonderful success. Many other fundraising galas in the city had to cancel or downsize their events due to this year’s economic state but our generous donors, sponsors and supporters enabled us to carry on. Together, we raised over $295,000!
We would also like to thank and congratulate our honouree, Dr. Andy Smith, Surgical Oncologist at the Odette Cancer Centre and Head of the Division of General Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. In addition to his surgical practice, he maintains an energetic leadership role promoting cancer quality improvement initiatives in Ontario. We are grateful for his generous, ongoing support of Colon Cancer Canada.
